Courtly Love

Do you believe in love at first sight? I do. Has it ever happened to you? If it did and you were in another relationship married, how did you handle it? During the Renaissance, they had rules for this. Marriage was mostly political and arranged for nobles and the lower classes needed children to help with the merger family existence. They knew that over a lifetime you would meet and fall in love with someone. So, they developed rules for such an occurrence. You could take your love on a picnic, or wear her colors in a joist. More intimate this would be met with severe punishment. Life was hard and no one wanted to deny the pleasure of spending time in conversation with the love of your life.
