San Francisco Writers Conference

My favorite day of the conference. The gala party. After hundreds of hours of writing and for most traveling across country. Tomorrow is your chance at your dream. You have researched the literary agents and have picked the two you think might represent you and your book to the big five New York publishing houses. Tomorrow you get to sit with them and pitch your book, the kicker…….. you only get three minutes with each. Two minutes two pitch and one minute for feedback. For two days, you have taken classes on writing an affective pitch. You have stood in front of a class of forty giving you pitch and having it critiqued. I watch writers by themselves in groups of two and three practicing. The stress has been building. At the gala, the stress in the room is tremendous. Then the booze begins to flow. Tomorrow is show time!!!!
